What is a Sensory Friendly Movie? Sensory friendly movies are designed to create an experience that is welcoming to all families and helps special needs children feel like themselves. It is a safe and friendly atmosphere created especially for kids with sensory input challenges. Often the lights are turned on and the sound is turned down, helping the children feel comfortable and at ease so they are better able to enjoy the show.
Movie Showings for Guests & Families Living with Autism or Other Special Needs
AMC is proud to partner with the Autism Society to bring you unique movie showings where you can feel free to be you! They turn the lights up, and turn the sound down, so you can get up, dance, walk, shout or sing! They are now expanding their Sensory Friendly Film program to four showings per month.
The second and fourth Tuesday and Saturday. Tuesday's are for adults and Saturdays for kids
Family-friendly movies will continue to show Saturdays, starting at 10am local time
They have added Tuesday showings at 7pm local time that may appeal to others on the autism spectrum.
