In building SpecialGlobe, we have told our origin story hundreds of times. To special needs groups like Easter Seals, United Cerebral Palsy and others like them our mission was obvious and clear from the start. They embraced our proposition that travel has many benefits for all families, special and typical, alike. We spoke to these like minded groups of empowering our community of users with differentiated content like:
From Concept to Reality Phase One
On the left hand side of the screen you will see all of these things we conceptualized in dreaming up have brought to life.
We have built:
We have an affiliate partnership in place with Enterprise that with our growth in community we will develop into a customized program for Special Needs Families for discounts for vehicle upgrades and additional equipment like GPS.
Similar to our Enterprise relationship is our partnership with HomeAway which ranks as the #9 hottest online travel site. They have been an early supporter and have committed resources to provide data feeds of the 99,000 accessible properties that are part of their system.
Destination Guides have been posted from curated trips to Orlando, New York City and San Diego. More to come from the Bahamas, Mystic, CT, Pigeon Forge and Oahu, Hawaii.
Each Destination Guide includes a review of attractions, experiences, where we ate, where we stayed, what we saw, as well as transportation options, special needs resources including pharmacy and urgent care center options. Destination Guides include original photography and video content curated by the SpecialGlobe Team.
We want to see the power and energy of our community fueling the content of these Destination Guides. We want this input and perspective to come from the thousands of families across a broad range of physical and cognitive disabilities who have joined the SpecialGlobe family. This perspective will bring empowerment for those families who have yet to cross the courage barrier.
We have built a bank of content with over 200 items with more to come from 50 different parents, siblings and others that love a special needs child. This resource is growing each day with tips, tricks, and empowering stories of what can make travel a reality for all children and families.
