Southampton, NY
Having always wanted to visit the famous “Hamptons”, I had done some research prior to our trip and Southampton looked to be the best choice for our family. With it’s consistently top rated Coopers Beach, many great restaurants and charming small village, it seemed the perfect place and pace for us. SpecialGlobe set out to spend two nights exploring this quaint little town and we were not disappointed.

What We Did
Montauk Light House
2000 Montauk Highway
Montauk, NY 11954
631-668-2544
The Montauk Point Lighthouse, designated a National Historic Landmark on March 2, 2012 by the Secretary of the Interior, is the oldest lighthouse in New York State. Located at the tip of eastern Long Island with views of Block Island Sound, Atlantic Ocean and beyond makes it a must see! There are over 137 iron steps to reach the top of the tower of the lighthouse. The minimum height requirement to climb to the tower is 41”. There isn’t an elevator to the top so this is not accessible to people with physical limitations. We chose not to make the climb but still enjoyed the beauty and history.
Coopers Beach
268 Meadow Lane
South Hampton, NY 11968
One of the most beautiful beaches anywhere! Sand that goes on for miles and big waves for playing in! There is an access mat on the sand to the water for wheelchairs. They offer a concession stand, chair rentals for $10.00 and umbrella rentals for $15.00 each per day, as well as bathrooms and fresh water showers. Daily parking permit is $40.00 per car.
Stevenson’s Classic Toy Shop
69 Jobs Lane
Southampton, NY 11968
631-283-2111
Rated the best toy store in the Hampton’s, your kids are sure to find something in here among the 10,000 different toys! In addition, the village has lots of amazing and unique shops and galleries that the whole family will enjoy.
Agawam Park
Pond Lane and Jobs Lane
Southampton, NY 11968
631-283-0247
Agawam Park has a super fun playground designed by Kompan. It has a soft rubber surface for safety and creative, engaging equipment to challenge kids’ minds and bodies. This park is located in town and makes for a good activity to burn off some calories post-dinner at Reds.
How We Got There
